June has come and gone and we had another event-filled month. Due to the efforts of many, we had a great month. From a Baked Potato Bar to a near world-famous Meatloaf Sunday, Breakfast for Dinner, Low Country Boil and the big surprise, Thirsty Thursday’s Naked Nachos hosted by the Dartful Dodgers. Hence let us not forget the ever popular Chicken Sunday. All of the events were not just a great time but well attended; where one could come to the club and enjoy the comradery.
Summer in the city can be hot and humid. What better place to beat the heat than to come to the club and enjoy a Slushy drink special from the clubs new frozen drink machine. With a variety of flavors to choose from; there is something to please everyone, and enjoy an ice cold beverage.
Even though it’s July and the middle of summer, we have another jam-packed month of special events and meals. In July we have three meals on Sunday nights before the weekly. Dinner by Feed Bag, Taco Dinner and Chicken Sunday compliment two Thirsty Thursdays, Wing Night and Friday night food before Bingo. Who wants to cook in this hot weather when you can come to the club and enjoy a good meal? Then to top it all off come to the club in your Hawaiian shirt, grass skirt and join us for Luau Bonnycastle style. There will be food, contests, prizes, and entertainment by Bard & Eddie. Barb and Eddie are a club favorite where you can dance the night away or just sit and listen to some good music.
All these events are only possible as the club has an active membership and so many of us are eager to help. However, that does not mean we don’t need more help. We could use a small team to clean-up after events. The events committee is always looking for people host a Thirsty Thursday. The club is only as good as the efforts of its members getting involved.
