Hard to believe March brings us to one year living with COVID-19, who would have thought one year ago we would own multiple face masks to wear when we go into public. We have learned: Social Distancing, PPE, Shopping on-line, Kroger Quick-list, Zoom meetings with family and friends, to use hand sanitizer every few minutes. One year ago things started shutting down, many of the things we just took for granted. St. Patrick’s Day parade, NCAA Tournament, The Masters, THE KENTUCKY DERBY and more importantly we were separated from our Families and our Bonnycastle friends. Added to the Pandemic the Social Divide in our country it reached a boiling point that prompted riots and protest in every State. This had an effect on our Presidential elections, and sparked an attack on the US Capital. As we approach this sad milestone in our lives we have started to learn to live with the Pandemic. Good news is COVID-19 Vaccines are rolling out. Social issues are in the forefront of peoples minds and hopefully people everywhere will realize we must live with each other and the healing process begins in a real way.
At the Bonnycastle business has picked up over the past month, every Saturday night is busy. We are starting to have more activities, Thirsty Thursday’s returned on February 25th, Chad, Matt and Eric blew it away with Smash Burgers and we had a great turnout! Sunday Chicken dinner returned February 28th. In March we have several events planned, Friday the 5th Fish Dinner at 6:30PM, Thirsty Thursday February 11th at 6:30PM. Mark your calendars as we celebrate St. Patricks Day March 13th with a toast at 4PM, and Irish Dinner to follow. We will miss the parade however we will have a Celebration! New Event this year as we welcome back March Madness with a Brunch on Saturday March 20th starting at 11:30AM. Finishing the month strong Mitch Huff will
have Smoked Turkey Hot Browns on Sunday March 28th at 6PM. Wow what a month to look forward to at the Bonnycastle, so happy members are returning to the Club to visit with friends, have meals, drinks with friends and to plan for the future. Vaccines start March 1st for category 1C, people 60 and older. The Bonnycastle Club
has a BIG percentage of members in this age group. You can make your appointment on-line with Kroger, Walgreens, Walmart, Norton, Baptist East, UL Hospital. You can also register at www.kycovid19.ky.gov If you need on-line help making an appointment, let me know and we will find a way to make it happen.
March comes in like a lion, out like a lamb. Spring begins March 20th, Thankfully!! I’m looking for the April showers, and those May flowers.
