Speaking of the bar, we have a new bar Manager, John Campbell. John comes to the Bonnycastle with many years in Hospitality Management mostly at private clubs around the region, he will be a great addition to the Club. Please stop by and say hello next time you are in the Bonnycastle.
In addition to John, we have two new bartenders Josh Felker and Kimberlie Thompson. Both have been in the hospitality industry many years and have already made a positive impact on service at the Club. We have taught them about the Bonny Pour so do not worry! On the down side of things, after long discussions with the Board and various other establishments in the bar business, it was decided to raise drink prices one dollar across the board. This was not an easy decision, we last raised prices in 2014, inflation this year resulted in increased pricing to the Bonnycastle Club across the board on everything we purchase. The smart business decision, while not popular was to raise drink cost. We only have two revenue sources, Member dues and the Bar. Member dues cover around three months of operations. We continue to look for ways to keep our cost down. One area that would help the Club tremendously would be for all members to come visit the Club at least two or three times a month and have a few drinks or buy a pizza and a glass of our new wines. Only about 30% of the Membership visits the Club on any regular basis. We are in the process of getting a new point of sale (POS) system. This system will help track Sales, Inventories, Membership Directory, and the NEW Bonnycastle Store, and Member visits. It will help with implementing a new “Bonnybucks” reward program tracking frequent purchases, like your Kroger card or similar type rewards program. This program will not have a impact on our monthly expenses, thanks to the negotiations of Adam Hribek, Chris Meyer and JK Mabry….Thank you!
