Coach’s Corner August 2021 | The Bonnycastle Club

Summer, summer, summertime time to sit back and unwind, so goes the song by Will Smith. It’s been a great summer at the Bonnycastle a lot of members have been coming by to sit back and unwind with a cold drink or two and Wow we’ve had some great food. July ended with a record number of Chicken dinners sold by TEAM BUTCH. I must say when you work as hard as all the team members on TEAM BUTCH and that many people show up to eat, it sure makes all the effort worthwhile. Looking forward to August to see what we can accomplish in the Kitchen. Check your calendar for Wing Nite, Food Truck. Fish Fry, Team Marko Chicken Night and $5 Basket Meal. On July 9th & 10th the much delayed Inauguration Dinner for 2019 and 2020 was held, a combined effort to meet and introduce officially our new members that joined in 2019 & 2020. The format was less formal, we served heavy appetizers which thanks to John Petrie, was
dinner! Winnie Shouse sang the National Anthem on Saturday night, I think she shocked a few people in the room with her wonderful voice. Great job to everyone involved with special thanks to John Mudd for organizing the new members attendance.

In June we have had several big nights at the Bar that have not included food. Card games in the Pflumm Room, the Cigar/Smokers Lounge, the outdoor tables on Bonnycastle Ave, along with the new Euchre Club (looking for more players) are drawing people to the Bonnycastle. We have plenty of room left for you to enjoy a nice Bobby, Will and Pauly poured drink! Did I mention we have Air Conditioning, and it works really well.

Our much loved Bonnycastle Dinner prices have not changed for a long time, while food cost have risen across the board. Recently Chicken cost has risen 30% and supply is limited. Cooking oil has more than doubled, two of the major reasons we have a need to increase dinner cost to $10.00 starting, August 1st. Still the best food and deal in town!

As we approach Fall, Football will be in the air and everyone is excited for our undefeated Cards, Cats (that’s hard for me to type), Hoosiers and Fighting Irish (even harder) will start new seasons we wish all of them great success this season and hope for exciting games and a lot of wins. The Bar will be active every Saturday and Sunday, come sit back and unwind!
