Oh happy days… June brings us summer and on June 11th, Kentucky will end capacity
restrictions and the Mask mandates for public venues. If you want to wear a mask, please do
so. We removed most of of the clear partitions from our bar, and returned all the bar stools. If
you did not know, we upgraded the Air Purification system in 2020 to help with airborne dust,
pollens and other pollutants. Clean air and a great place to meet, drink and greet friends!
In April, The Board of Directors voted unanimously to reduce the years for Lifetime Membership
to 40 years, effective immediately. We would like to recognize ALL of our Life Members. George
Mercker (56’), Jack Klausing (57’), Herman Weber (65’), Phillip Bullock (69’), Ron Bisig (74’),
Ralph Bridgers (75’), Steve Heck (77’), Eric Lamb (77’), Don Meyer (77’), Jack Wessling (77’),
David Graas (80’) and Jim Hofmann (80’). Truly amazing that these great men have supported
the Bonnycastle Club, with their time and efforts all these years. Thank you and
Congratulations!
The House committee is working hard to make a major upgrade to the smoking area. We are
well on the way in the design phase and work should start in early June. We will close it off for a
few days during construction. You can use the the tables on Bonnycastle during construction.
In the kitchen, we have a new Mixer with a 20 quart capacity, and a new Deep Fryer. Both will
be installed soon. This will help make meal preparation run smoother and the food tastier!
Speaking of meals we have five meals planned in June, Fish Fry(6/4), Chicken Pot Pie(6/13),
Wing Night(6/16), Hawaiian Luau(6/19), Chicken Dinner(6/27). Plus two Thirsty Thursday’s
(6/10) and Taco Thursday featuring Tacos and Margaritas (6/24) and Old Fashioned Night on
6/8). As you know, we serve great meals and the price is right, Come on Down!
The Bar Committee is making positive changes too, we our in the process of hiring a third
bartender. The new bartender will work the Sunday shift. Will and Pauly will be working the
other days, with the new bartender filling in when needed. Bobby will focus on adding major
events at the Club, while expanding his role as Club Manager. Bobby will still be behind the Bar
when big events call for a second bartender. It is exciting to see the Club moving forward in
2021, while maintaining our traditions.
