January has flown by, seems like only a day or two ago we were enjoying Corn Beef and Cabbage Dinner sponsored by Don & Pat Duggins. The dinner raised more than two thousand dollars for the Home of the Innocence. Thank you to everyone that came out and supported this great event.
I am encouraged by the recent increase in attendance at the Bonnycastle, weekend nights have really picked up. We had several events that drew a lot of Members. Comedy Night, Chicken Dinner, NFL Football, UK Basketball and a few brave souls came in to watch UL Basketball. Ouch! We had a huge crowd on Monday the 17th to watch the Coach Jeff Walz radio show, he’s a great speaker, engaging, funny and informative about his team. Hope to have him back soon!
As we head into Spring and Summer we are in need of Volunteers. Everything from setting up and taking down tables and chairs, decorating, planning events, Cooking Teams (plan your own menu). In General tasks that help make the Club fun for everyone. If you can help, please reach out and get involved.
We started a monthly drink special, not a lower price point, but Cocktails we hope you enjoy. The January special was a Shoemaker. The Bar committee has decided that for February in the spirit of Love, a Cherry Chocolate Martini will be featured. Sounds yummy, I plan on having one before February. Coming soon we will have a new selection of Wines, let us know what you think. Building on the new Wine selection, we will have a Wine event on February 18th starting at 7PM. Come see what we have to offer!
February will be a busy month at the Bonnycastle Chili Bowl on the 5th, Super Karaoke on the 11th, BIG Super Bowl Party on the 13th, Comedy Night on the 25th and Team Butch’s almost famous Chicken Dinner on the 27th. Dartball every Wednesday. And many other fun events scattered throughout the month. See you at the Bonnycastle!
